Coffee, tea, or no caffeine? Why?

No Caffeine, because caffeine bothers me now.  I gave up caffeine in 1987 when I decided that I needed to be able to stay awake on my own.  Before that Pepsi and a candy bar were often my lunch.  Never liked coffee, not even the smell.  Don't even like to kiss my SO after he has been drinking coffee or Coke.  I enjoy caffeine-free and herbal teas now and then.  Generally I drink water or milk or sometimes juice.   I used to occasionally do caffeine on road trips, but it messes up my tummy and will slow down a trip more then stopping for a nap!  Oh, and when I gave up caffeine, that included chocolate.  That was much harder to give up then the soda.  I would dream of Three Musketeers bars.  Now I don't care for the taste of chocolate either!

Thanks to Caroline for answering a different one of these Featured Questions and prompting me to find them.  Perhaps I will blog more often if I have that starter question!

I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

As summer ends...

Instead of looking back at all the things I wanted to do this summer and didn't, I am going to look at all the things I learned how to do and things I did.

I went on vacation with my family and had the most beautiful canoe ride with Mike on a calm, peaceful pond in northern NH.  It was wonderful.  It was not a completely natural pond, and it is not always peaceful, (tried to go back with the kids later and it was very busy!) but it was quiet & beautiful while we visited.  We forgot the camera.  My memory will have to work for change!

I tried to quit my job, thought it would give me the push I needed to find something else, but they convinced me to stay.  This ended up being a good thing.  It would be very, very bad right now if I had no income.

Chris and I got to go to Pennsic.  I learned Viking wire weaving, two different tablet weaving techniques, beaded emroidery, attended some SCA event type classes, attended the exchequer training class & helped teach a tablet weaving class.  I am not certain how much of what I learned that I will pursue right away, but they were fun to learn!  I purchased an inexpensive lucet and am learning that craft as well.  I only made it up to the archery field once, and it was before they started war points.  Embroidery is a very relaxing craft for me.

After Pennsic there was a party for my aunt who turned 95.  Family came from PA and NC to visit for this special occasion.  It was good to visit with them.

Now I am looking at starting a new school year with Chris & getting Kiaya going with new classes as well.  I have taken on more responsibilities in the SCA, parts of my job are changing, hopefully for the better, and I still have a messy house!  Today I plan to get at least some small part of the mess gone.  I have managed a small amount of weeding in the yard this morning, and now I can start inside.
